The EHB met at JSC on March 28, 2001, in Building 1, Room 360, at 1:00 p.m. Representatives from the following organizations participated:

The following items were presented:

 


  1. Hardware Integration Schedule XA/Barbara Counts


Changes to the schedule were minor and include the STS-105 MPLM KSC Delta Bench Review ship 4/30/01 and MPLM KSC Delta Bench Review 5/15/01.

  1. PRACA Status NS43/Terry Miller


Sixteen FIAR’s are open for EVA hardware and are shown by flight as follows:

STS-100 (6A) 0


STS-104 (7A) 10

STS-105 (7A.1) 15

One FIAR was reported past due and was statused as follows:

BFC026F005 — Disk/Loop Pin Puller Tool Caddy. Broken tether cord.

Doing return to print. Closure written; to be rerouted for signature.

No new FIAR’s were reported.

No FIAR’s are open for STS-100.

STS-104 FIAR’s were statused as follows:

JSCEC0842 — Modular MWS Gimbal Assy. Fraying of end effector cord.

Have closure.

JSCEC0849 — Safety Tether. Slow retract of tether.


Per C. Nicollier, CB position is to live with the slow retract. A DR will be written on any future failure.


The oldest FIAR, against the Adaptive Payload Carrier, is 568 days old.

  1. Certification Status NS22/Greg Wright
  2. All hardware certification is closed for STS-100. There are 20 hardware certification items open for STS-104 and four open hardware certifications for STS-105.

  3. On-Orbit Limited Life Status — NA/Rod Toler

The Bi-Weekly On-Orbit Limited Life Status was presented. Items showing "red" are the MUT Tool Carrier and ORU Transfer Device, both expiring May 2001. The database is still on target for a June release.

USA limited life issues need to be addressed and will be discussed off-line.

  1. EMU RDR and Certification Status NC512/Charles Sager

EMU RDR’s open by flight are as follows:


STS-100 (6A) 4


STS-104 (7A) 8


STS-105 (7A.1) 4

STS-100 RDR’s: The two glove and two battery RDR’s will be presented at the regular Thursday RDR telecon and are planned to be closed at that time.

STS-104 RDR’s: These are planned for closure in the scheduled timeframe.

STS-105 RDR’s: These are planned for closure in the scheduled timeframe.

There are no open certification items to report for STS-100.

The are 27 open certification items for STS-104 (7A). Most will come off with ESEL revisions. The SSER cert is in work. Joint A/L stowage items cert memo has been received; waiting for GCAR.

There are 15 open certification items for STS-105 (7A.1). This list will be scrubbed; many items should come off next week.

  1. Funds Transfer Status XA/Janice Hall

No funds were transferred during this reporting period.

  1. IFA Status — XA/Dale Roberts
  2. IFA actions will be statused at a special EHB on 4/11/01. It was reported that STS-102 IFA actions assigned to EC5/Bill Spenny are in work and official response will be in the form of an EMUM from HSWL.

     


  3. EMU Rotation Plan XA/Brian Johnson


HSWL requested deferment of changes to the EMU Rotation Plan to the 4/4/01 EHB, which will include crew issues and addition of 3rd EMU to 8A.

  1. USA SAFER Flight Logistics Plan — XA/Anh Huynh
  2. Changes to the USA Safer Flight Logistics Plan were presented. The plan was revised to substitute S/N 1006 for S/N 1003 on STS-100 and to substitute with S/N 1003 accordingly on subsequent flights.



  3. EHB Action Status — XA/D. Roberts

This item was deferred.

  1. Walk-on: H7144 — EMU SSA Phase VI 12V Heater Modification for 6A and 7A — HSWL/Charles Russo
  2. This CCBD requests the build of five 12V heater in-line cable voltage regulator assemblies to be delivered to USA by 4/1/01. A Type A TPS will be processed to install the voltage regulator assemblies into the EMU 02 pocket to support flight for STS-100. The contractor will supply an acceptability for use memo as rationale to use the modified 12V heater system for flight to CTSD by 3/29/01 and electrical verification/checkout procedures to USA by 3/27/01.

    The following action was assigned:

    Action 3/28/01-1: Present a plan for 12V Heater modifications for subsequent flights.

  3. Walk-on: H7149 — EMU SSA Discharge REBA for STS-100 — HSWL/Charles Russo

This CCBD requests pre-discharge of the REBA to a steady state voltage of less than 12.8V. The contractor will develop duty cycle and crew response times for a night and day pass for STS-100 based on manned and unmanned testing with the Phase VI gloves. Duty cycle will be documented with a Mission Action Request.

Decision: Tabled for further discussion off-line. To be routed for concurrence OSB.

  1. Walk-on: Bends Treatment Adapter
  2. This item will be discussed off-line.

  3. H-0972 — Provide Top Mounted Handrails to ISS for Node 2 — XA/Kristin O’Brien

This CCBD requests providing top mounted handrails to ISS for Node 2 to be delivered as follows:


  • P/N SEG33106347-821 – 45 by 6/15/01

  • P/N SEG33106347-807 – 3 by 6/1/01

These handrails will come out of the ISS Handrail block buy funded by SSCN 2808 and CR H-0740.

Decision: Route for technical concurrence.

 


  1. H-0970 — Deliver Top Mounted EVA Handrails for Cupola — XA/Kristin O’Brien

This CCBD requests top mounted handrails for the top of the Cupola dome to be used for crew stabilization as follows:


  • P/N SEG33106347-811 — 5 by August 2001

  • P/N SEG33106347-807 — 1 by August 2001

These handrails will come out of the ISS Handrail block buy funded by SSCN 2808 and CR H-0740.

Decision: Route for technical concurrence.


  1. H-0973 — Provide Handrails to ISS per PQDS Requirements — XA/Kristin O’Brien
  2. This CCBD requests providing top mounted and custom handrails to ISS per PQDS requirements as follows:

  3. H-0966 — Repackage Nitrogen Dioxide Draeger tubes — USA/Doug Edwards

This CCBD requests changing the Draeger Tube Nitrogen Dioxide packaging from a green foil laminate pouch to a clear bite size package.
