Huygens arriving at Titan; Mars Express entering an orbit around the red planet; Envisat collecting GigaBytes of information on the Earth: Europe’s most sophisticated space missions have all in common that they are controlled by ESOC, the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany, near Frankfurt.

Today’s Exchange outlines how ESA’s engineers there perform their difficulkt task. The programme includes ample recordings from main and specialised mission control rooms, as well as general and exterior views. Also background material on the missions under ESOC control has been included.
