ESMOS STATUS MEETING MINUTES

The ESMOS Status Meeting was conducted by P. Ondrus at 1:00 PM April 30, 2002. The meeting was held in Room N202 in Building 32.

General Comments and Related Discussion:

Aqua launch is May 4th at 5:55 AM. Fueling is completed.

The FRR was yesterday; everything is "go". MR #5 was last night and was successful.

Not much change on the status of the budget; Center presentation is May 22nd.

Working with Code 450 to get space in Building 3/14 for the EDOS SEF.

Some legacy missions have been transferred to the DSMC; issues have been resolved for Aqua launch.

Discussion of ESMOS Top Ten Issues

#1 — FY03 budget —SOMO backing out of funding networks, institutional support and technology programs. Revamp programs. Cover increased security costs: Paul is working this issue.

#2 — Getting a contract in place to provide anomaly support from LMMS, SBRS, and L3COM: Everyone agreed in principle on L3COM. Working on getting something in place through Code 900 for Santa Barbara.

#3 —NISN/Code M line cost threat: No change in status.

#4 — End of Mission planning for ERBS and UARS: Working on presenting ERBS plans up through to Code Y.

#5 — USGS has not provided money to cover FY02 Landsat-7 network costs. NASA has not budgeted for this cost: Plan is for Landsat-7 to go to Universal Space Net by October 1st.

#6 — Problem reprocessing ASTER data: Correlation between time jumps and ASTER processing failures has been found. Occurrence of jumps is not getting any worse; approximately 15 jumps/week. A team will go to Japan for a meeting.

#7 — System vulnerabilities: Presentation was made to Dolly; a team will be formed to go forward with the effort.

#8 — Space in Building 3/14 for EDOS development facility: Plan has been documented; can eliminate this item from the top ten in a week.

#9 — Aqua Transition: No change of status.

#10 — DSMC transition NCC and WOTIS operations are moving to WSC during 2002: Current testing is complete; there may be more GN testing after Aqua launch.

#11 — NACs: Completed; this item will be closed.
