ESA TV Transmissions – Tuesday 21 Jan

On Tuesday 20 January there will be two ESA TV Transmissions as follows:

1) STS-107 Flight Day 5 Highlights 05:00-05:20 GMT

The ESA TV Service rebroadcasts the daily flight highlights of the current Space Shuttle research mission, STS-107, in time for breakfast news.

Satellite Parameters:

  • Atlantic Bird 1 (12.5 degrees West)
  • Transponder B1, channel 2 (MPEG-2 MCPC), horizontal
  • F= 11014.17 MHz, SR = 20.150 MS/sec, FEC = 3/4

2) Space and Sustainability 13:00-13:15 GMT

The World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) was held in Johannesburg between 26 August and 4 September 2002. ESA was present at this important gathering with a delegation of experts to demonstrate the usefulness of space technologies and applications to sustainable development.

The ESA TV Service offers another chance to see this programme, which outlines ESA’s position on how space applications can contribute to sustainable development. It includes soundbites with ESA’s Director of Earth Observation, Jose Achache.
