ESA TV Service – STS-100 Live Coverage

The ESA TV Service will provide extensive coverage of the STS-100 launch and mission. The launch is currently scheduled for Thursday 19 April, 18:41 GMT, with a 5-minute launch window.

The launch will be covered live, with two feeds both from 18:00-19:00 GMT, as follows:

  • NASA-TV live, with images from Cape Canaveral, on NSS-K
  • ESA TV Launch Live coverage, with the images from NASA-TV plus additional background footage.

    The transmission parameters are as follows:

    NASA-TV coverage of the launch on:

    NSS-K at 21.5 degrees West

    Transponder H07, vertical, dig channel TBD

    F=11.591 MHz, SR=20.150 MS/sec, FEC=3/4

    ESA TV Service live coverage of the launch

    Eutelsat W1, 10 degrees East

    Transponder B5, channel 2 (digital, horizontal)

    F=11.14375 MHz, SR=5.632 MS/sec, FEC=3/4

    After launch, every workday, the ESA TV Service will transmit the flight day highlights via NSS-K, in time for breakfast news programmes, between 05:00-05:20 GMT.

    ESA is also producing a special Web site during the STS-100 mission with daily updated information and streaming video content produced from a European point of view. The URL is http://www.esa.int/guidoni.
