Background information on the transmission:

When the Space Shuttle Endeavour flies to the International Space Station on 19 April, it will carry a next-generation Canadian robotic arm to the orbiting research center. Canadarm2, a longer, stronger and more flexible cousin to the Canadian-built robotic arm used on the Shuttle, is a critical addition to the space station. Mission STS-100 will also see the visit of the first European, Italian ESA astronaut Umberto Guidoni, to the Station.

The ESA TV Service will provide a live-rebroadcast of three of NASA’s STS-100 pre-flight briefings at the Johnson Space Centre:

12:30-13:00 GMT: STS-100 Mission Video File Feed. This NASA B-roll provides extensive new 3-D graphics of the STS-100 mission, plus some background footage on the mission and its preparation.

14:00-14:30 GMT: STS-100 Mission Overview. The following experts will provide an overview of the STS-100 mission: Phil Engelauf (STS-100 Lead Flight Director), John Curry (Lead International Space Station Flight Director for STS-100), Floyd Booker (STS-100 Launch Package Manager)

19:00-19:45 GMT: STS-100 Pre-Flight Crew News Conference. This briefing is the last opportunity for the media to meet the astronauts of the next Shuttle mission. The Crew of the STS-100 mission comprises Kent Rominger (Commander), Jeff Ashby (Pilot), Chris Hadfield (Mission Specialist 1, Canadian Space Agency), John Phillips (Mission Specialist 2), Scott Parazynski, Mission Specialist 3), Umberto Guidoni (Mission Specialist 4, European Space Agency), amd Yuri Lonchakov (Mission Specialist 5, Rosaviakosmos).
