Background information on the transmission:

Please note that this transmission is on NSS-K at 21.5 degrees West. Details are summarised below.

On 26 October 2001, ESA and its four ISS partners will receive the prestigious Principe Asturias award, in Oviedo (Spain). Prior to the award ceremony, HRH Prince Felipe of Spain will talk to the Expedition Three and the Andromede Crews, in the presenc of HRH Queen Sofia of Spain, during a 15-minute in-flight call with all inhabitants of the ISS. Also present will be ESA Director General Antonio Rodotà, ESA astronaut Pedro Duque and high representatives of the four other ISS space agencies.

The ESA TV Service transmits the images from the ISS for this event, live. These can be used by all broadcasters. The language of the in-flight call is English. The images of the event in Oviedo are recorded by Spanish broadcaster TVE and are directly available from them under a pool arrangement.
