ESA TV Coverage of Columbus Launch
Today in the early morning hours, NASA announced that the launch of space shuttle mission STS-122 is delayed for 48 hours.
Liftoff is now scheduled for Saturday 8 December at 20:43 GMT. Weather conditions are predicted to be slightly less favorable with a 40 percent chance of weather prohibiting launch.
Yesterday’s launch was scrubbed when two of four engine cutoff sensors failed to respond appropriately during tanking.
ESA-TV will provide live coverage of final countdown and lift-off, from 20:30-21:00 GMT. A mailing with satellite details will be made later today.
In case of a launch tomorrow, Flight Day 1 Highlights of 30-40 minutes run time, featuring the best images of the launch day, will be transmitted on 9 December at 06:00 GMT.
