The NASA Office of Education is accepting proposals for the 2010 NASA K-12 Cooperative Agreements Notice (K-12 CAN). The K-12 CAN effort seeks proposals that incorporate innovative approaches for development and delivery of instructional materials, creates experiences that capture the interest of learners, and actively involves participants in relevant, NASA science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, or STEM, content applications. The instructional materials and experiences of the proposal should support secondary level teaching and learning, with a particular emphasis on high school education.

This CAN is available electronically through the NASA Solicitation and Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation System (NSPIRES) (http://nspires.nasaprs.com/external/solicitations/summary.do?method=init&solId=%7bAB5142F2-CD5B-4F20-3890-91F7749A2625%7d&path=open).

NASA Education will use a two-step process for reviewing and selecting proposals. Proposers will submit a short Notice of Intent and Preliminary Proposal (NOI/PP) that briefly describes the work to be performed. The NOI/PPs are due on June 1, 2010. Authors of the most promising ideas will be asked to submit full proposals no later than July 19, 2010.

Proposals should be submitted electronically via the NASA Solicitation and Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation System (NSPIRES) (http://nspires.nasaprs.com/external/solicitations/summary.do?method=init&solId=%7bAB5142F2-CD5B-4F20-3890-91F7749A2625%7d&path=open).
