Dale Andersen: Progress Report from Mars

Dale Andersen is a principal investigator at the SETI Institute’s Carl Sagan Center for the Study of Life in the Universe. That’s SETI, as in Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence. So why does Dale take part in research and exploration missions to the Arctic and Antarctica? Two reasons.

First, living and working in extreme environments on earth can prepare us for extreme environments….well, elsewhere.

And second, the Sagan Center’s work encompasses the aims of SETI, including the understanding of the origins, the evolution and the distribution of life in the universe. Right, the big questions.
