Commercial spacehead unit assembled at Baikonur
The spacehead unit comprising Commercial spacecraft, Fregat upper stage and the payload fairing was assembled at the Baikonur Cosmodrome on February 24, 2022. Specialists from Yuzhny Space Center (a branch of TsENKI), NPO Lavochkin and the Progress Rocket and Space Center (all are parts of Roscosmos) took part in the work.
The mating operations took place in the assembly and testing facility at Site 112 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The fairing flaps were installed onto the batch of spacecraft and the upper stage, after which Roscosmos specialists carried out the final operations. The prelaunch preparation will continue with transporting the stack to the Site 31 technical complex for general assembly with the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle.
The launch of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle is scheduled for March 4, 2022 at 22:41:02 UTC.
