Chandra Operations CXO Status Report 28 June 2002
During the last week, Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.
A Chandra press release was issued on June 25 describing observations of the pulsar in the center of the distant supernova remnant SNR G54.1+0.3. The pulsar was discovered using both X-ray data from Chandra and radio data from the Arecibo radio telescope. For more details and the image, see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/02_releases/press_062502.html
Of note last week was the Chandra User Committee meeting held at the CXC on June 25-26.
The observing schedule for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of Her X-1 that is phase constrained.
