The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Office of Space
Science is releasing an Announcement of Opportunity (AO 01-OSS-04) for
its
Mars Exploration Program mission entitled “Mars Exploration Rover Mission
Participating Scientist Program.” Selections through this AO are
intended
to add 25-30 new scientists to the Mars Exploration Rover mission. The
science objectives covered by this mission include those in the currently
defined Solar System Exploration science theme of the Office of Space
Science. Participation is open to all categories of organizations,
foreign
and domestic, including industry, educational institutions, nonprofit
organizations, NASA Centers, and other Government agencies. This AO will
be available on or about August 29, 2001, via the World Wide Web site
http://spacescience.nasa.gov/, link through “Research.” Notices of
Intent
to propose are requested by September 28, 2001, with proposals due
December
5, 2001.
