PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Reporters are invited to join students in Prescott, Ariz., who will receive a call from the International Space Station during a live in-flight education downlink scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 10:35 to 10:55 a.m. MST.

The Davis Learning Center Auditorium at Embry-Riddle University in Prescott will host the 350 elementary, middle, high school and college students who will participate in a 20-minute question-and-answer session with Expedition 18 astronauts Michael Fincke and Sandra Magnus. Journalists interested in attending the event should contact Bill Thompson of Embry-Riddle University at 928-777-6961 or 928-830-0897, or by e-mail at thompsb@erau.edu

Prescott area students have been preparing for the event by studying the International Space Station and how its crew lives and works in space. Activities included tracking the station as it flew over Arizona.

The university is one the few institutions worldwide selected this year to host a NASA educational space station downlink. The educational downlinks are an integral component of NASA’s Teaching from Space program, which promotes learning opportunities and builds partnerships with the education community using the unique environment of human spaceflight. The downlink will air live on NASA Television and be streamed on the NASA Web site at:
