The Astrobiology Society of Britain is pleased to announce that registration for it’s sixth bi- annual meeting (ASB6: “The Origin, Distribution and Detection of Life in the Universe”), to be held at UCL on 2-4 September 2015, is now open.

Astrobiology is a multidisciplinary topic that brings together many branches of science, including astronomy, astrochemistry, astrobiology technology, biology, chemistry of life, development of life-forms in other environments, exoplanets, extremophiles, geomicrobiology, habitable zones, humans in space, life’s origins, Mars, meteorites, microbial communities, origin of complex organics, panspermia, planetary protection, prebiotic climates, public engagement, SETI. ASB6 will address these topics and more.

Confirmed international speakers include:

Jean-Pierre de Vera, DLR (the BIOMEX and BIOSIGN experiments on the ISS)

Gerhard Kminek, ESA’s Planetary Protection Officer (planetary protection).

Please note the following:

(1) The abstract deadline is 1 July.

(2) ASB6 are able to offer a reduced student registration fee of 40 (or 77 including the conference dinner).

(3) There are 40 rooms for student accommodation in a nearby hall of residence at the highly subsidised rate of 30 for three nights (1-3 September inclusive; only 10 per night!). This offer, which is only open to registered undergraduate and postgraduate students, will be made available on a first-come-first-served basis so early booking, which must be done via the above link, is highly recommended.
