Flight 153’s launch campaign has marked a major milestone with the
integration of both satellites atop the Ariane 5 heavy-lift launcher.

The N-STAR c telecommunications spacecraft for Japan is in the lower payload
position on Ariane 5, housed inside the Sylda 5F structure. Europe’s Stellat
5 is mounted atop the Sylda 5F, protected by Ariane 5’s payload fairing.

Built by Lockheed Martin and Orbital Sciences for NTT DoCoMo, Inc. of Japan,
N-STAR c will weigh approximately 1,645 kg. at launch. N-STAR c will ride
inside the Sylda 5F dispenser, and is to be released after Stellat 5 during
the flight.

Stellat 5 was produced by Alcatel Space Industries, and will be used by a
joint-venture company called Stellat, which brings together France Telecom
with Europe*Star.
