Arianespace flight 146: The launch campaign begins

Preparations for Arianespace Flight 146 began today at the Spaceport with
the erection of the Ariane 4’s first stage. This activity took place in the
ELA-2 launch complex’s vertical assembly building, where the stage was
removed from its protective container and installed the Ariane 4 mobile
launch table.

Flight 146 will carry DIRECTV-4S, a satellite built by Boeing Satellite
Systems for DIRECTV TV Inc. of California. Liftoff of the Ariane 4 with
DIRECTV-4S is scheduled for late November.
