The countdown is underway for this evening’s launch of Arianespace Flight
142, with all systems “green” for a liftoff at 6:58 p.m. local time in
French Guiana.

Final pre-launch activities began this morning with electrical tests,
followed by fueling of the main cryogenic stage.

Mission managers said the weather report is good so far. The potential of
occasional thunderstorms this evening does not appear to be a major problem,
as the 93-minute launch window should allow any bad weather to move through
in time to enable the final countdown and liftoff.

The European Space Agency’s Artemis satellite is riding in the upper payload
position and will be released just over 28 minutes into the mission,
followed by the BSAT-2b spacecraft seven minutes later
