The following activities were completed:
- Completed dynamic balancing of the AMSR-E instrument. The final position
of the AMSR-E On-board Balancing Mechanism (OBM) was 47.3 mm. - Completed the spin-up of AMSR-E from 29 rpm to the operational rate of 40 rpm.
- Uplinked the daily Master Command Loads and Ephemeris.
- Transitioned the MODIS instrument to the ON state.
- Moved the MODIS Space View Door (SVD) to the Outgas position.
- Completed the MODIS first, second and third Outgas.
- Returned the AMSU A1 and A2 instruments to Full Scan Mode.
The following activities are scheduled for the next 24 hours:
- Return HSB to Scan Mode.
- Perform CERES Aft Azimuth Position and Rate Functional Test.
- Uplink the daily Master Command Loads and Ephemeris.
Aqua Spacecraft Status:
- Spacecraft State is currently Standby.
- GNC Mode is Fine Point Mode, HiFi Ephemeris.
Aqua Instrument Status:
- AIRS is in Standby state, Quiet bus is ON, Noisy bus is ON, Cryocooler is OFF with the Heater ON, Scan mirror rotating is OFF and earth shield is CLOSED.
- AMSR-E is in Observation Wait mode, rotating at 40 RPM.
- AMSU A1 is in Full Scan mode.
- AMSU A2 is in Full Scan mode.
- CERES Aft is in Safe mode and the covers are CLOSED.
- CERES Fore is in Safe mode and the covers are CLOSED.
- HSB is in Survival mode and the antenna is in the Target position.
- MODIS is in Standby mode, Nadir Door is Unlatched and CLOSED, Solar Diffuser Door is Unlatched and CLOSED, and the Space View Door is Unlatched and CLOSED.
Activities Deferred:
- AMSR-E to Normal mode (see anomaly #1 below).
Anomalies:
- The AMSR-E Signal Processor for the Sensor Unit (SPS) switched off shortly after being commanded to Normal (Science) mode. Initial commands to the SPS have been unsuccessful. The investigation is currently on-going.
