Background information on the transmission:

Please note that this transmission is on another satellite than the satellite used for the live launch coverage. Please see satellite parameters below.

This live televised transmission features the docking of the Soyuz capsule and the ISS ingress of Claudie Haigneré, the first European woman to visit the International Space Station. She was launched on board a Soyuz rocket from the Russian cosmodrome in Baikonur and is due to dock with the International Space Station on 23 October at 10:53 GMT.

This transmission will be fed in two parts. Firstly the docking programme will include a replay of Sunday’s launch and also live images of the Soyuz capsule docking with the International space Station. The second programme will include the ingress and first images of Claudie Haigneré inside the International Space Station. This transmission will also feature the first inflight call between her and VIPs at TsUP control centre, among whom France’s prime minister Lionel Jospin.

For continuity, an ESA/CNES mission commentary will be provided with two audio channels, English and French. Wherever the images from Baikonur or Tsup carry international sound, there will be no mission commentary but clean international sound, on both channels. The transmission will also include a feed of launch and pre-launch highlight images, shortly after the start of each of the two parts.
