The 2019 NASA Fundamental Physics and Quantum Technology Workshop will be held on April 8-10, 2019, at the Fairmont Washington D.C., Georgetown Hotel.

The workshop will provide a forum for NASA fundamental physics investigators to present results and discuss research ideas for future space experimentation with interested international and U.S. colleagues in the areas of Atomic and Molecular Physics (DAMOP community), Fundamental Forces and Symmetries, Quantum Technology, Dusty Plasma Physics, and Condensed Matter Physics. Sessions will be organized to discuss results from NASA’s Cold Atom Laboratory (CAL) on the International Space Station (ISS) and results by scientists using European Space Agency’s Plasma Kristall-4 ISS facility and CNES’ DECLIC-ALI-R ISS facility insert. Talks will also describe DLR/NASA plans for the Bose Einstein Condensate Cold Atom Laboratory (BECCAL) follow-on to CAL, including engagement of the science community through a planned NASA Research Announcement. Special sessions will be held to highlight U.S. and international Quantum Initiatives in the context of research in space and to discuss future opportunities for fundamental physics and quantum technology research in the final years of the ISS, in NASA’s future lunar Gateway, and beyond.

All interested scientists, researchers and government agency representatives are invited to participate. The participation of the current NASA-funded investigators or their representatives is kindly requested. Workshop participants are invited to submit abstracts for contributed talks and posters as part of their registration. The workshop website – https://icpi.nasaprs.com/fpws2019 – includes detailed registration, abstract submission, program, and venue information. There is no registration fee to participate in the workshop.
