Shenzhou-15 lifted off today with a crew of three at 15:08 UTC 29 on a CZ2F rocket from Jiuquan, Inner Mongolia, China. It will dock with China’s Tiangong space station in 6.5 hours.

The Shenzhou-14 crew aboard Tiangong was able to watch the launch from space.

The Shenzhou 14 crew will do the first Tiangong command handover – in space – to the Shenzhou 15 crew.

The new crew will be the first taikonaut crew to conduct its entire stay aboard a totally completed Tiangong space station.
