NASA Space Station On-Orbit Status 24 April, 2021 – Crew-2 Arrives
NASA astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Megan McArthur, along with JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Akihiko Hoshide, and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Thomas Pesquet aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon have arrived at the International Space Station.
Crew-2 joins Expedition 65 crew of crew of Shannon Walker, Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover, and Mark Vande Hei of NASA, as well as Soichi Noguchi of JAXA and Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Novitskiy and Pyotr Dubrov.
The crew members first opened the hatch between the space station and the pressurized mating adapter at 7:05 a.m. EDT then opened the hatch to Crew Dragon.
NASA TV will continue to provide live coverage through the welcoming ceremony with leadership from NASA, ESA and JAXA to greet the crew on station. The welcome ceremony is targeted to begin about 7:45 a.m. with the following participants:

On-Orbit Status Report
Crew-2 Dock:
Today at 4:10 AM CST, the Crew-2 Dragon Endeavour docked to the International Space Station. The hatch to Dragon Endeavour was opened at 6:35 AM and the current station crew welcomed crew members Shane Kimbrough (FE-14), Megan McArthur (FE-15), Akihiko Hoshide (FE-16), and Thomas Pesquet (FE-17) aboard. Crew compliment aboard the ISS has officially risen to 11.
Systems:
Campout Preparation: Multiple Crew -1 crewmembers spent their early afternoons setting up their temporary sleep locations. These crewmembers set up these locations in order to make room for the arriving crew in the Station’s permanent sleep locations. They will stay in these temporary sleep locations for the duration of the Crew-1 / Crew-2 direct handover period.
ISS Safety Briefing: As part of the crew handover process, all crewmembers currently aboard the station participated in an ISS safety briefing. This briefing outlined rules and responsibilities, as well as highlighted emergency response actions, procedures, and equipment /tool locations.
