A SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launched the JCSAT-16 commercial communications satellite
to a Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO) in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Prior to the satellite reaching GTO, the Falcon 9 first stage safely landed on the SpaceX ocean barge.

JCSAT-16 is owned by SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation. SKY Perfect JSAT is a satellite operator in the Asia-Pacific region and provides high-quality satellite communications to its customers using its fleet of 16 satellites. A SpaceX’s Falcon 9 had previously successfully launched another JSAT satellite, JCSAT-14, in May.
