SpaceX successfully conducted a hot fire test of their upgraded Falcon 9 yesterday afternoon but not without some anomalies according to a Tweet sent out by Elon Musk: “full thrust (was) achieved on 2 sec static fire.”
SpaceX is to launch the first Falcon 9 v1.1 on demonstration flight from their new facility at Vandenberg Air Force Base as early as this Sunday but the launch could be delayed further according to Musk.

The demonstration flight is carrying the CASSIOPE satellite for the Canadian Space Agency along with several other small satellites.
