The “Stronger Together” mission successfully launched from Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority’s (Virginia Space) Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) on Thursday, March 16 at 18:38 EST Rocket Lab’s Electron rocket carried Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites for Capella Space.

When deployed, the satellites will enable the San Francisco-based company to expand its SAR capabilities.

“I could not be prouder of the Virginia Space, Rocket Lab and Capella Space teams for their successful “Stronger Together” launch from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport, and for our reliable partnership with NASA,” said Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin. “Virginia Space truly lives up to its standard of excellence by maintaining, expanding, and elevating the best assured access to space in the nation. I look forward to its next successful mission.” Virginia Space is committed to providing assured and reliable access to space for small- and mid-size rockets.

Virginia Space, a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia, owns and operates

MARS. The spaceport has three launch pads, including Launch Complex 2/Pad-0C, the multi-
user launch pad from which Electron launches. MARS also includes the nation’s newest payload processing facility and an unmanned aircraft system airfield.

Additional Electron launches from MARS are planned in 2023.
