Reaction Dynamics partners with Precious Payload to offer non-ITAR-restricted launches via Launch.ctrl platform
Precious Payload, the leading online world marketplace for satellite launches, and Canadian rocket company Reaction Dynamics (RDX) join forces to offer satellite operators affordable, eco-friendly launches via the Launch.ctrl platform, using a state-of-the-art hybrid rocket. Aurora-1, Reaction Dynamics’ demonstration launch vehicle, is expected to make its first suborbital flight later this year.
Watch an interview with Bachar Elzein, CEO and CTO of Reaction Dynamics:
With its cutting-edge additive manufacturing capabilities, RDX builds economically efficient and eco-friendly commercial rockets. The company aims to offer launch services to provide routine access to space for satellites and research payloads in the safest, most sustainable, and most affordable way. Its proprietary, patent-pending, hybrid propulsion technology meets the performance needed for orbital launch while being less expensive, safer, and more sustainable than traditional liquid rockets used by the vast majority of rocket companies.
“We are very excited to work with the leader in the launch industry in Canada to give international customers the option to launch from North America without the strict regulations and logistical challenges of working with US sites,” commented Andrew Maximov, CEO and founder of Precious Payload. For example, even the process of obtaining US visas for international satellite teams can delay a launch for months or even permanently ground a project. “Furthermore, Reaction Dynamics manufactures non-ITAR-restricted launch vehicles that can be exported to a number of countries not previously served by US manufacturers, making it possible to launch from almost anywhere in the world.”
Reaction Dynamics partners both with Canadian and international launch sites to ensure very short lead times. If one site is crowded, RDX can easily switch to another and get the payload into space with minimal delays. Its rockets are designed to be easily shipped in containers, either by air or sea, which gives even more flexibility when it comes to launching from multiple orbital inclinations and various sites.
“Precious Payload has quickly established itself as the international online platform of choice for orbital launch bookings,” said Bachar Elzein, CEO and CTO of Reaction Dynamics. “Its Launch.crtl platform minimizes costs and development timelines while maximizing launch schedule reliability and mission assurance. It was a natural fit for Reaction Dynamics to be present on this platform, given the complementary nature of our two offerings.”
Beyond simply functioning as a marketplace for satellite launches, Launch.ctrl templates for mission description and the workplace for team collaboration bridge the gap between payload engineers and an LP’s business development, sales, marketing, and launch-management teams.
Earlier this year, Precious Payload successfully introduced a new version of its commercial launch schedule and released individual pages for launch and hosted payload providers, their vehicles, and upcoming missions (with all available launch service operators including brokers, commercial spaceports, and OTVs). Using Precious Payload’s Launch.ctrl platform, any payload developer can find the best commercial launch or hosted payload solution for their instrument or experiment.
About Precious Payload
Precious Payload is a US/UAE/German space tech company that developed Launch.ctrl, a marketplace for satellite operators looking to book a launch and the related services needed to get their payloads off the ground and into space.
About Reaction Dynamics
Founded in 2017, Reaction Dynamics (RDX) is a rocket company with a mission to enable routine access to space by launching the most eco-friendly, safe, and affordable rockets ever created. It has developed a revolutionary hybrid launch technology that dramatically reduces the environmental impact of reaching space, compared to current technologies. This advancement has the potential to enable regular and affordable access to orbit. Aurora, Reaction Dynamics’ first small launch vehicle, is currently undergoing qualification testing. Its first suborbital flight is expected to occur later this year.
