Port Canaveral is seeking to work out a deal with NASA and Kennedy Space Center to use rail lines on KSC property to help form a rail link to the port that would boost its cargo operations, helping create thousands of jobs.
In testimony to a congressional subcommittee, Port Chief Executive Officer John Walsh said: “We believe, with the rail connections, land expansions and cooperative programs discussed today moving forward, we can create 5,000 living-wage jobs in the port region over the next five to seven years, and at least 10,000 jobs in the next 10 to 15 years.”
