United Technologies Corp. (UTX) today announced the appointment of Vince Campisi as Senior Vice President, Digital, and Chief Information Officer, effective Monday, June 27. He succeeds Nancy Davis, who will retire at the end of this year, concluding a 37-year career at UTC.

In this role, Campisi will be responsible for the strategic direction of UTC’s global IT operations, including the continued implementation of UTC’s digital strategies. “We have significant opportunities to harness and leverage data to create tremendous value for customers and increase our operational efficiency,” said UTC President and Chief Executive Officer Gregory Hayes. “Vince’s knowledge and experience in this area will be instrumental in positioning us to capture these opportunities.”

Campisi most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for GE Digital, where he was responsible for cybersecurity, business and cloud operations, with a focus on delivering software and analytics-based outcomes to boost productivity and customer value.

Campisi started with GE in 1999 and progressed through leadership roles in software development, information technology, quality and operations. His most recent previous position was as General Manager, Cloud Services & Chief Information Officer for GE Software, where he focused on driving growth and productivity across GE’s nearly $50 billion services franchise by deploying big data analytics and leveraging mobile technologies.

“I want to thank Nancy Davis for her many significant contributions during nearly four decades of service to UTC,” Hayes said. “As the leader of IT across the corporation, Nancy developed transformational strategies that included creating next-generation cloud and mobile enablement platforms and implementing a world-class security operation that protects UTC’s valuable assets from cyberattack.”
