UN Press Briefing on China’s Manned Space Programme

The United Nations Information Service and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (OOSA) invite you to a Press Briefing on China’s Manned Space Programme: Achievements and Prospects on Friday, 28 May 2004, at 10.00 hours at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) Press Briefing Room C03

The press briefing will give an overview of the achievements and prospects of China’s manned space programme. The head of the delegation, Hu Shixiang, and China’s first astronaut, Yang Liwei, will be available to answer questions at the briefing. Mr. Yang was the astronaut on China’s first manned space flight last October, onboard of which two United Nations flags were carried as a symbol of China’s firm commitment to
use outer space for peaceful purposes and for the benefit of all humankind.
