The heavy-lift Ariane 5 ECA is complete

The launch campaign for Flight 164 has moved into its final phase following integration of the mission’s primary satellite payload – the XTAR-EUR X-band telecommunications satellite – to complete the Ariane 5 ECA launcher. This activity took place February 4 in the launcher Final Assembly Building at the Spaceport in French Guiana, and is being followed by final checkout of the completed Ariane 5 ECA. Liftoff of Flight 164 is on schedule for a late afternoon liftoff on February 11.
