The Aerospace Corporation – Steven Leontis promoted to General Manager, Navigation Division

The Aerospace Corporation announced today the appointment of Steve Leontis as general manager for the corporation’s Navigation Division, Space Program Operations. In this role, Leontis leads the corporation’s support to the U.S. Air Force’s GPS Directorate at the Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base.
 
The enterprise portfolio includes operations and sustainment of the GPS legacy satellite constellation and control segment, production of GPS III satellites, GPS III follow-on satellites, next-generation operational control segment, and Modernized GPS User Equipment.   
 
Leontis joined The Aerospace Corporation in 1985 as an intern after earning a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from California State University at Long Beach and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California. He became a full-time member of the technical staff in 1988.
 
During his time at Aerospace, Leontis developed models and simulations of spacecraft attitude control systems, electromechanical payloads, and ground tracking systems for national security space programs; was responsible for the development of classified payloads from design through integration, launch and activation; held overall responsibility for program management of a first-of-a-kind electro-optical infrared midcourse tracking satellite system; and was responsible leading the Aerospace activities associated with all aspects of the AEHF and WGS missions.
 
Prior to this appointment, Leontis served as the associate general manager of the Navigation Division.
