NEW YORK – June 3, 2022 – Starting June 5 (World Environment Day), TerraGenesis: Space Settlers, the hit planet terraforming simulator published by Tilting Point and downloaded over 28M times, will participate in the Green Game Jam, an initiative from the Playing for the Planet Alliance, backed by the United Nations Environment Programme, alongside 40 major participating game studios. The Green Game Jam is a movement of game industry leaders who collaborate to educate and inspire climate action within their studios and amongst their players.

A permanent player-facing leaderboard that will display the number of trees planted per user is being added as an extension of the existing TerraGenesis: Space Settlers Ecologi integration, in which player actions including daily logins, ad views, completion of missions and more results in trees being planted in a real forest. Players can receive ‘carbon impact points’ by completing in-game events and being active within the game. This leaderboard will track the amount of trees each player plants, to encourage competition amongst players and increase engagement towards tree-planting within the game and real life.

In addition to the permanent leaderboard, a special limited-time event set on Earth will take place in-game to help raise awareness of the global food crisis. Players can add new restorative biomass facilities to their planets to highlight sustainable food solutions, such as the Soil Farm, Coastal Habitation, Green Roofs, Regenerative Organic Farming, Reforestation, and the Rodale Institute (who lent their name/likeness to the game). During this limited-time event, players will need to overcome obstacles like food wastage, deforestation, excessive meat production and more, to help planet Earth.

In TerraGenesis: Space Settlers, players explore space and cultivate life on desolate planets in an immersive simulator rooted in real NASA science. TerraGenesis: Space Settlers was notably designed by the one-man development team of Alexander Winn and is part of the Tilting Point portfolio of games.
