“O’KEEFE IS THE RIGHT MAN AT THE RIGHT TIME.’

WASHINGTON, D.C – Today, the White House announced that Mr. Sean O’Keefe, currently Deputy Director, Office of Management and Budget, has been named to be the next Administrator for NASA.

Sherwood L. Boehlert (R-NY), Chairman of the House Science Committee said, “Sean O’Keefe is a superb choice for NASA Administrator and I applaud President Bush on his selection.  I say this not only as a proud, fellow New Yorker but as someone who is extremely impressed with Mr. O’Keefe’s exemplary public service and with his analytical and management skills.”

“Under Dan Goldin’s outstanding leadership, NASA met its technical objectives.  Now, the agency needs to focus its attention more on meeting its management goals.  I know Mr. O’Keefe will bring a realistic, results-oriented approach to addressing the management problems that have bedeviled NASA.”

“Mr. O’Keefe will face a number of immediate challenges – in particular, getting the International Space Station back on track – and I’m confident he’s up to the task.  Sean O’Keefe is the right man at the right time for this job.”
