SSL Selected to Provide Communications Satellite

Space Systems/Loral (SSL), a leading provider of commercial satellites, today announced that it was selected to provide a communications satellite to an undisclosed customer.

The satellite has both C-band and Ku-band payloads, and will be used for voice and data communications, broadband Internet, and video distribution. It is based on the SSL 1300 satellite platform, which provides the flexibility for a broad range of applications and technology advances. In addition to providing the satellite, SSL is also procuring the launch vehicle.
