SpeedCast International Limited (SpeedCast), a leading global satellite telecommunications service provider, today announced that its CEO Pierre-Jean (PJ) Beylier has been recognized with the World Teleport Association (WTA) ‘Teleport Executive of the Year’ award. This accolade recognizes Mr Beylier’s outstanding accomplishments at SpeedCast in the past 12 months and his remarkable contributions to the satellite industry as a whole.

Mr Beylier was instrumental in the successful growth of the SpeedCast business, significantly growing its revenues in just over 12 months while leading six acquisitions, with 99% retention of staff in the acquired companies. It was under his leadership the company expanded its horizons to become a truly global player as it continued to be the major market consolidator.

“Mr Beylier’s accomplishments go far beyond his leadership and dedication to promoting excellence at SpeedCast, and throughout 2015 he has made remarkable contributions to the satellite communications industry that will leave a lasting legacy,” said WTA Executive Director, Robert Bell. “We’re honored that he brings his professional acumen for mission-driven leadership to our industry, and congratulate him on his Teleport Executive of the Year recognition.”

PJ Beylier was recognized for his many achievements in the satellite sector, including SpeedCast’s focus on charitable events, non for profit organizations and humanitarian activities. SpeedCast was the only service provider to deploy its emergency communications system, ReadyCONNECT, in less than 48 hours during the Australian Wildfires. Under his instructions, the company also donated equipment and technical assistance to support relief efforts during the Hurricane Haiyan.

Under PJ’s leadership, SpeedCast launched ‘Project Bordeaux’, an ongoing integration task which aims to give all SpeedCast team members visibility of what is happening in the company, what has been achieved and what is coming next. As a part of this project, PJ has been leading the task of bringing the new entities into the SpeedCast community and extending the SpeedCast (CAST) corporate values “Customer-Focused, Agile and Responsive, Success Through People & Safety, Team Spirit”, transforming SpeedCast into a company driven by an internal passion for excellence.

“I am honoured to have been recognised as a leading figure in the satellite industry by the board of directors at the World Teleport Association”, commented Mr Beylier.

“I would like to thank SpeedCast’s dedicated employees for this year of great achievements as we have been driving organic growth, signed 6 acquisitions and continued to grow SpeedCast into a global leading satellite services provider. I am very pleased to see that SpeedCast’s outstanding work is being recognised by the international industry.”

PJ Beylier will be presented with his award at a ceremony during the World Teleport Association’s annual luncheon on 8 March 2016 at the Gaylord National Harbor, site of the 2016 Satellite Conference. Presenting the award to Mr Beylier will be the winner of the 2015 Teleport Executive of the Year award, Jorge Luis Villarreal Schutz, CEO of Elara Comunicaciones.

The World Teleport Association has awarded annual awards to companies and individuals who have dramatically demonstrated excellence in the field of teleport operations, development and technology since 1995.
