Space Station Briefings Planned Thursday and Friday

Two briefings are planned this week to talk about
current and future activities aboard the International Space
Station.

Thursday, May 31, at 3 p.m. EDT, NASA mission managers will
brief media representatives on the current status of the
orbiting space platform. Flight Director John Curry and
Robotics Officer Aaron Goldenthal will focus on work
currently being conducted aboard the station, in addition to
preparations for a spacewalk, now scheduled for June 8.

Friday, June 1, at 9 a.m. EDT, Commander Yury Usachev, along
with Flight Engineers Jim Voss and Susan Helms, will hold a
press conference from space to discuss current operations on
board the station as they begin their third month in orbit.

Both events will originate from and be coordinated by NASA’s
Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX. Both events will also be
broadcast on NASA Television, with multi-center question and
answer capability from participating agency centers.

NASA TV is available on GE-2, Transponder 9C at 85 degrees
West longitude, vertical polarization, with a frequency of
3880 MHz, and audio of 6.8 MHz.
