Space Satellites for the Masses
Want to launch your own personal satellite? Henry Ford made autos affordable
to the masses in the early 20th century. One Stop Satellite Solutions is
making satellites affordable in this new century. With launch costs as low
as $45,000, CubeSats (4 inch cubes) will be launched at less than the price
of a luxury car.
These satellites will be unveiled during a news conference at the New York
Sheraton Hotel and Towers (Seventh Ave and 54th St.) in the Carnegie I Room
(3rd floor) on Wednesday, November 15, at 11 a.m.
On hand will be Dale Richards of One Stop; Dr. Robert Twiggs, consulting
professor at the Aeronautics and Astronautics Department of Stanford
University (inventor of the CubeSat); Vladimir Andreev, Director General of
Kosmostras, the Russian company that is commercializing former Russian ICBM’s – today known as Dnepr rockets; retired Air Force General Stephen “Pat”
Condon, former commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill Air Force
Base in Utah, and others.
These individuals will touch on a couple of themes:
– The ability for individuals, small businesses and educational
institutions to launch tiny satellites at affordable costs.
— The turning of swords into plowshares — the former nuclear missiles
of both the U.S. and Russia have been instrumental in One Stop’s development
and commercializing — from the successful launch of JAWSAT in January of
this year on a former U.S. Minute Man Missile to the use of Kosmostras’ Dnepr
rockets for future One Stop launches — these weapons of war are now being
used for educational and commercial purposes.
