WHO: Education & Space Reporters, Editors, Photojournalists

WHAT: Space in the Classroom (SITC) education conference – SITC is presented by

the Space Foundation and hosted by the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), in partnership with NASA and the Aerospace States Association (ASA). Educators from 27 states and Canada are among the 300 expected.

Master of ceremonies is KKTV 11 News anchor Eric Singer. Keynote speakers include: Andre Bormanis, Star Trek Science Advisor; JoAnn Morgan, NASA Director, External Relations and Business Development; Dr. Kathie Olsen, NASA Chief Scientist; Dr. Guion “Guy” Bluford, former NASA Astronaut; and Tim Russ, Star Trek Voyager star (invited).

WHEN & WHERE: February 22-23, 2001, USAFA Arnold Hall: Registration 7-8 a.m., program 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. K-12 educators learn how to Launch Learning Excitement(tm) in their classroom with hands-on continuing education training through breakout sessions and keynote speeches.

February 24, 2001: 8 a.m. – Noon: Guided tours of USAFA, Lockheed Martin, and Air Force Space Command (Schriever AFB).
