Space Burials Now Being Offered to the Worldwide Public

Celestis, Inc. (Houston, Texas), announced today that the countdown has
begun for the first of its Kosmos series of launches, currently scheduled
for launch on a Dnepr rocket from historic Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Celestis is the company that pioneered post cremation spaceflight memorials
by launching a symbolic portion of the cremated remains of Star Trek creator
Gene Roddenberry and 60’s pop icon Timothy Leary into space, and has
recently provided its lunar services, in cooperation with NASA, to place Dr.
Eugene Shoemaker’s remains on the lunar surface, symbolically making Dr.
Shoemaker the first man from Earth to be buried on the Moon.

Japan, and the United Kingdom, are launched into Earth orbit. Funeral homes
locally and internationally are offering the Celestis service to the general
public and are now beginning to take reservations.

Each Celestis capsule is inscribed with the deceased’s name and personal
message as a tribute to the fulfillment of each individual’s dreams of a
singular space journey, messages include: “With Our Love Go In Peace,” “Free

The upcoming launch of Kosmos I is scheduled from Baikonur Cosmodrome in
Kazakhstan, the oldest launch facility in the world. The Dnepr series of
rockets are among the most reliable in the world, having flown over 160
missions with a 97% success rate. Launch of the Kosmos series is made under
agreement with SpaceQuest, Ltd., of Fairfax, VA. SpaceQuest is an innovative
microsatellite manufacturer responsible for the design and construction of
the primary payload aboard Kosmos I – LatinSat. LatinSat is a project of
Latin Trade Satellite S.A. of Buenos Aries, Argentina – truly making this
mission an international effort.
