Space Adventures Receives Top Service Company Award by Virginia Chamber of Commerce
Space Adventures Recognized As One of Virginia’s 50 Fastest-Growing Companies
Space Adventures, Ltd., the world’s leading space tourism company, was recognized yesterday as the Top Service Company in the state of Virginia, at the annual awards banquet held at the Richmond Marriott. Space Adventures also won a spot on the “Fantastic Fifty” list of the fastest-growing companies in the state, by demonstrating substantial revenue growth.

“In 2001 alone, considered one of the most difficult years to survive as a business in a rough economic climate, especially in the leisure and hospitality industry, Space Adventures achieved 430% growth in revenues, which in itself demonstrates the demand for space travel and space-related experiences,” said Eric Anderson, president and CEO of Space Adventures. “We are honored and proud to be the recipient of Virginia’s Top Service Award, and we will continue to strive for excellence as the leaders in space tourism.”
To be eligible, companies were required to be privately held, with headquarters in Virginia, and to show sales between $200,000 and $100 million. The accounting firm of Goodman and Company conducted the review of company financial records based on a four-year sales revenue history to determine the winners. The Fantastic 50 award program is sponsored by the Virginia Chamber, Virginia Business Magazine, Goodman & Company, SunTrust Bank and the Virginia Center for Innovative Technology.
The winners were honored yesterday at a banquet at the Richmond Marriott, hosted by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
