Six-Time Shuttle Astronaut Lands at the Space Store
Shuttle Astronaut Story Musgrave To Sign His New DVD
HOUSTON, TX – Dr. Story Musgrave will appear at The Space Store to sign
copies of his recently released DVD A Space Story on Friday, December 26,
2003 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Space Story DVD is a galactic journey with
Story visiting the Hubble Space Telescope, viewing Earth from Space, and
reaching for the Heavens through the eyes of Hubble accompanied by various
pieces of space music.
Story Musgrave is one of NASA’s most experienced astronauts. With a 30-year
career spanning the Apollo era of the 1960s right through to the Space
Shuttle program of the 1990s, he is the only astronaut to have flown on all
five Space Shuttles. He was a mission specialist on STS-6 in 1983,
STS-5F/Spacelab-2 in 1985, STS-33 in 1989 and STS-44 in 1991, was the
payload commander on STS-61 in 1993, and a mission specialist on STS-80 in
1996. A veteran of six space flights, Dr. Musgrave has spent a total of
1,281 hours 59 minutes, 22 seconds in space.
Musgrave is also a pilot, surgeon, mechanic, poet and philosopher. Over the
years Story has flown nearly 18,000 hours in 160 different types of civilian
and military aircraft as pilot, instructor and acrobatics specialist. In
addition, he has made more than 600 private parachute jumps, including over
100 experimental free-fall descents to study human aerodynamics.
