Pouliot to Add Senior Policy Experience to Firm

WASHINGTON – Joe Pouliot, a former senior staffer on the House Science Committee, has recently left Capitol Hill to join The CJR Group, a boutique government relations firm with offices in Washington and Cleveland.

Pouliot brings to the firm an extensive knowledge and understanding of Capitol Hill and the Administration, and expertise in a wide-range of issues, including technology, environmental and space policy.  His familiarity with the inner-workings of the Legislative and Executive branches will provide an added benefit to the firm’s entire client base.

Pouliot joined the Science Committee in June 2002 and served as the Committee’s Communications Director for the past two and a half years.  As a senior staff member on the Committee, Pouliot developed a thorough knowledge of the issues and agencies under the Committee’s jurisdiction, including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Science Foundation, and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

A native of Upstate New York, Pouliot graduated cum laude from The George Washington University with a Bachelors degree in Political Science.  Prior to joining the Science Committee, he served as Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Utica, New York.  He also had the honor of serving as an intern in the Clinton White House in 1996.

Founded in 2004, the CJR Group represents a broad spectrum of clients and is involved in various policy matters.
