SATELLITE 2016 and Space Generation Advisory Council Partner for Mentoring Event
The Access Intelligence Satellite Group, producers of the SATELLITE Conference and Exhibition, renews its partnership with the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC). Together, SATELLITE 2016 and SGAC highlight the need to engage with the next generation of space professionals with a number of key events held during the course of SATELLITE 2016.
In partnership with the Future Space Leaders Foundation (FSLF) and SATELLITE 2016, SGAC will host its first technology focused event, SGx on Monday, March 8 from 9:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m. SGx will bring together young professionals, experts in the industry and government leaders to discuss pressing issues and innovative ideas in a brand new way. The aim of SGx is to engage and intrigue the audience with fast-paced lightening talks that focus on story-telling rather than business pitches in order to communicate about technology in the satellite industry. For more information on the program and how to register, please visit www.satshow.com/sgx.
For the 3rd year, SGAC will also host the mentorship program for their members on Wednesday, March 9 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with top leaders in satellite, learn from industry veterans and inquire about the future of the global marketplace. Following the mentoring program, all SGAC members are invited to SATELLITE 2016’s Awards Celebration and Reception at 6:00 p.m. Registrations are open to students and YPs between the ages of 18-35. Register for free on SGAC’s website at www.spacegeneration.org.
“SGAC does an incredible job of serving young professionals in the space and satellite industry, and we’re honored to once again partner with them to help nurture the next generation of the satellite community,” said Lindsey Fuller, show director of SATELLITE 2016. “We’re developing more robust programming and networking events to integrate all levels of experience at SATELLITE, and SGAC’s Mentoring Event will help further the objective of linking those young professionals with experienced executives across the entire satellite community.”
“SGAC is delighted to partner with SATELLITE 2016 once again to provide an opportunity for young professionals to learn from the best in the profession. The Mentoring Event at SATELLITE 2016 provides an ideal platform from mentees to gain access to expert advice from experienced industry leaders, network and share ideas in order to improve their professional development,” said Minoo Rathnasabapathy, Executive Director of SGAC.
Additionally, SATELLITE 2016 and SGAC are granting 30 complimentary conference passes to promising members through an essay competition. SGAC members will have until February 19, 2016 to submit a video that addresses the future of the satellite industry. From these essays, 30 winners will be selected as recipients of the complimentary conference passes. For more information on this program, please visit SGAC’s website at www.spacegeneration.org.
SATELLITE 2016 will be held March 7-10, 2016 at the Gaylord National Convention Center in National Harbor, MD, located at 201 Waterfront St, National Harbor, MD 20745. For more information or to register, visit www.SATShow.com.
