Robbins-Gioia,
Inc., a leading provider of management consulting services, today
announced that it has been awarded a firm fixed price (FFP)
subcontract for NASA Glenn Research Center’s Microgravity Research,
Development, and Operations Contract (MRDOC) in Cleveland, OH.

As a subcontractor, Robbins-Gioia will support prime contractor
Federal Data Corporation (FDC) in overall contract program control and
risk management including project management, project planning, and
performance measurement.

“By selecting Robbins-Gioia as a subcontractor, FDC has
demonstrated its commitment to ensuring the successful execution of
the MRDOC initiative,” said Mike Sledge, Vice President,
Robbins-Gioia. “Our 20 years of management consulting experience will
help FDC deliver the MRDOC effort on time and within budget.”

Under the contract, which is estimated at $3.6 million over eight
years, work will be issued to Robbins-Gioia on a task order basis. The
first task order began March 27, 2000 and will run through November
30, 2000.

The scope of the effort includes providing business and control
processes and procedures, maintaining project baseline control,
developing an issue management tracking system, delivering performance
measurement plans, earned value management and more.

Robbins-Gioia will also provide the MRDOC Information Management
System (MIMS), which integrates FDC’s automated systems. This
web-based performance management system will provide FDC and NASA the
requisite visibility to proactively address risk and keep the program
on track.

The NASA MRDOC project is designed to help build some of the
hardware for the International Space Station (ISS). The MRDOC project
will design, build, and operate ISS infrastructure, experiments, and
ground-based operations and training facilities to examine some of the
physics of fluids and combustion in the microgravity of near space.

“Robbins-Gioia’s expertise is essential to the MRDOC effort to
deliver ISS hardware, software, and infrastructure to NASA,” said Dr.
Guy Bluford, Vice President of Major Program Sector and Program
Manager of MRDOC. “Performance within aggressive cost and schedule
goals were critical in FDC’s decision to select Robbins-Gioia as part
of our best value solution for MRDOC.”
