CLEVELAND — The Community Workgroup for the decommissioning of the closed reactor facility at NASA’s Glenn Research Center’s Plum Brook Station will meet from 7-8:30 p.m. on Oct. 20, at the Erie County Commission Chambers on the third floor of the Erie County Office Building, 247 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio. The public is invited to this meeting.

The meeting provides a venue for NASA to disseminate information on the decommissioning process to the members of the Workgroup and the community. The Workgroup consists of area residents, health and public safety professionals and members of Erie County’s educational, environmental and minority communities. The meeting also provides an opportunity for the public to raise questions and concerns.

Information will also be available on an environmental assessment for the proposed runway at Plum Brook Station. An environmental assessment is a study to consider the potential for environmental impacts from new development.

Media representatives interested in attending the meeting or obtaining additional information about the Decommissioning Project may contact Sally Harrington or the Media Relations Office at 216-433-2901.

Information on the decommissioning project also may be obtained by calling the 24-hour, toll-free Decommissioning Information Line at 800-260-3838 or visiting: http://www.grc.nasa.gov/www/pbrf
