SPOTbytes Service Will Supply Satellite Capacity, Uplink, Downlink and Internet Connectivity to Pacific Island Community

SINGAPORE, June 14, 2005 — PanAmSat (NYSE: PA) announced today that it signed a long-term agreement with Office des Postes et Telecommunications New Caledonia (OPT New Caledonia), the telecom operator of New Caledonia, to provide satellite-based Internet connectivity across its PAS-2 Pacific Ocean Region satellite. OPT New Caledonia will also receive direct connectivity to the U.S. Internet backbone, as well as teleport uplink and downlink services, as part of its SPOTbytes package.

“Through this agreement, OPT New Caledonia will enjoy a total connectivity solution that lets it serve its customers more efficiently and cost-effectively across its entire service area,” said David Ball, vice president, Asia Pacific region, PanAmSat. “By providing Internet access to areas far-removed from cable or fiber networks, SPOTbytes high-speed, two-way service offers the instant Internet infrastructure many telecom operators need.”

PanAmSat’s SPOTbytes service provides direct access to the Internet via satellite for domestic backbone operators, Internet service providers (ISPs) and enterprises virtually anywhere in the world. SPOTbytes can supplement a company’s existing architecture by providing unprecedented flexibility in expanding and diversifying an existing network. The service includes satellite capacity, teleport uplink and downlink services and Internet port access to multiple Tier One Internet backbone providers all supported by a 24-hour Technical Call Center. Utilizing PanAmSat’s global satellite network, SPOTbytes offers unparalleled versatility and cost-efficiency for operators, ISPs and enterprises.

“Our past experience with PanAmSat has always been excellent, given the Company’s flexibility, reliability and reach. We decided to broaden our relationship by signing on for a much larger SPOTBytes service,” said Jean-Yves Ollivaud, general manager, OPT New Caledonia. “We’re excited to bring this new, expanded Internet service to our customers.”
