PanAmSat Appoints Tom Eaton as Executive Vice President

PanAmSat Corporation (NASDAQ: SPOT) today announced the creation of an
executive vice president post to oversee sales for the company’s video, Internet and data services worldwide.

Tom Eaton, an executive with more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing and more than 15 years of experience
in the
telecommunications and satellite industries, has been named to the position of executive vice president, global sales. Mr.
Eaton joins the company’s senior executive management team and reports directly to R. Douglas Kahn, PanAmSat’s
president and chief executive officer.

“Tom brings extensive knowledge and experience in leading global sales efforts to PanAmSat’s senior management team and
will enable the company to focus on key growth opportunities throughout the world,” said R. Douglas Kahn, PanAmSat’s
president and chief executive officer. “Additionally, Tom will work closely with other members of senior management as
well as our product development and regional sales teams to develop and expand our value-added service offerings for the
North American and international markets.”

As executive vice president, global sales, Mr. Eaton oversees PanAmSat’s global sales organization, including sales offices
located in Greenwich, Conn., Coral Gables, Fla., and Long Beach, Calif., as well as in Hong Kong, Johannesburg, London,
Mexico City, Seoul, Sydney and Tokyo. Mr. Eaton manages the sale of all PanAmSat value-added satellite services to
broadcast, cable, Internet and telecommunications customers around the world. These offerings include the company’s global
program
distribution, direct-to-home, Internet access, business communications and data services as well as special event and ad hoc
services.

Mr. Eaton was formerly senior director of global sales and customer support for INTELSAT, where he headed the development
and execution of the company’s sales and distribution strategies. He directed sales and customer support staff located in
facilities in Washington D.C., Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Mr. Eaton joined INTELSAT in 1996 as director of
global marketing and sales for the company’s broadcast video services unit.

Prior to INTELSAT, Mr. Eaton worked at Integrated Network Services, Inc., a systems integration firm specializing in the
design,
installation and support of IP-based, enterprise-wide networks for hospital and healthcare clients. As vice president of
marketing and sales, he led the company’s efforts in becoming a value-added service provider to more than 200 hospitals
nationwide.

Mr. Eaton’s experience also includes a position with Sprint
Communications as director of product marketing for the Sprint Video Group, where he was charged with the development of
new video services for Sprint’s business clients. He directed the development and implementation of the group’s marketing
strategy, market research, development and launch of new services, branding, marketing
communications and the evaluation, selection and management of strategic business partners. Before joining Sprint, Mr.
Eaton held various management positions within finance and sales at NORTEL.
