Out of this world panel topics presented at the 22nd National Space Symposium
More than 7,000 participants are expected at the 22nd National Space Symposium, the premier forum for discussion about all facets of the space industry. This year’s event continues to delve into important industry topics with “A Dialogue on U.S. Earth Observations – A Civil and National Security Perspective” and “Research and Development Trades – Evolutionary vs. Revolutionary” panel discussions. The 22nd National Space Symposium takes place April 3-6, 2006, at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs.
The Earth Observations panel will take place April 4 at 2:15 pm. Featured panelists include The Honorable Jim Geringer, former governor for the state of Wyoming and director of policy and public sector strategies, Environmental Systems Research Institute; Mr. Gil I. Klinger, assistant deputy director of National Intelligence for Technical Means/Collection, Office of the Director of National Intelligence; and Mr. Gregory W. Withee, assistant administrator, NOAA Satellite and Information Service. Acting as moderator is Ms. Nancy S.A. Colleton, president of the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies.
The Research and Development panel will feature Dr. William L. Ballhaus, president, BAE Systems National Security Solutions; Maj Gen Ted F. Bowlds, USAF, commander, Air Force Research Laboratory; Mr. Richard M. McCormick, special assistant to the director, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency; Mr. Steven D. Nixon, deputy associate director, Science and Technology, Office of the Director of National Intelligence; and Mr. Ronald F. Taylor, vice president and general manager, Space and National Systems Division, General Dynamics. Dr. Pete L. Rustan, director of Advanced Systems and Technology for the National Reconnaissance Office, will moderate the session, which is scheduled to commence Tuesday, April 4 at 3:45 p.m.
