Orbital Names Kate Kronmiller Senior Vice President of Government Relations

Dulles, VA 11 October 2011) – Orbital Sciences Corporation (NYSE: ORB), one of the world’s leading space technology companies, today announced that it has named Kate Kronmiller Senior Vice President of Government Relations. Ms. Kronmiller comes to Orbital from United Space Alliance (USA), where she was Vice President of Washington Operations for the past 14 years.

She brings a deep body of knowledge, boundless energy and exceptional leadership skills to our team.”

In her position with Orbital, Ms. Kronmiller will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s engagement strategy with Congress and the Executive Branch of the Federal government, as well as managing the company’s interaction with state and local officials. She will work with Orbital’s internal Operating Groups to identify opportunities for the company to apply its innovative and affordable space technology in ways that benefit government customers while furthering Orbital’s strategic goals.

Since 1997, Ms. Kronmiller held a comparable position at USA, a joint venture formed by Boeing and Lockheed Martin primarily responsible for carrying out all aspects of Space Shuttle and Space Station operations. Prior to USA, she worked at Rockwell International and Space Services Inc. where she helped shape the policies and procedures for the commercialization of space.
Ms. Kronmiller is involved in numerous industry-related groups, including the National Space Club and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and is one of the original co-founders of Women in Aerospace. She was also a member of the first class of Sea Grant Fellows established by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Ms. Kronmiller holds a M.S. degree in Science, Technology and Public Policy from George Washington University and attended the University of Pennsylvania and American University for her B.S. degree in Biology and Engineering.
